Potty Training

Our schedule is pretty loose this month, she’s old enough, and we could use the diaper money for Christmas – it’s time to potty train.

I read up on some tips from baby center and here’s my plan:

  1. No wearing diapers in the house except for sleeping time. I’ll have to start exaggerating how nice her underwear is so she’ll try not to soil them.
  2. Get dolly some underwear and a makeshift potty. The Ally has not failed me with the bib and the toothbrush- clearly, she’s influential.
  3. Singing a song with her whenever she sits on the potty. We’ll have to invent one on the spot.
  4. Flushing her stuff whenever we’re done. Good to get her in the habit now than let her think it magically disappears don’t you think?
  5. Washing hands and drying them with her own hand towel. Time to adjust the sink area to her size.
  6. A sticker reward for each successful shoot or maybe a tattoo.

Little Libra enjoys rituals so hopefully this one is fun enough for her. Any other ideas that have worked for you?

Mentally psyching myself up for getting peed on… Wish me luck!

my daughter’s potty trainer sings twinkle twinkle little star, she personally picked her trainer from the store so she’ s excited to use it. I also had to demonstrate how its done, we are their best influence so it’s always ‘whatever mommy does i do too.’ She was potty trained by age 2 but I tell you it was a one step forward, 2 steps back process so be very patient. Don’t worry, it’s really rewarding when they’re fully potty trained :)

    • Wow that’s amazing. It’s been a month and we’ve “graduated” to doing her potty in the bathroom, no more sticker incentives and waking up in the middle of sleeping to go. But! There are still accidents at night after dinner for some reason..Almost there!
